My beautiful sunrise this morning. The sky always looks like it is on fire through these trees. Too bad it wasn't as it was a very cold & windy morning.
We didn't have much to do today & so WB made his famous chili. We held back from having it for dinner tonight as it will be so much better tomorrow. Can't rush Frito Pie Perfection! Instead, I made stroganoff with some left over steak - very delish.
I messed around with the donkeys & calves this morning before we went in to town. WB has a new carbine that needed some trigger pull work done. After dropping that off with the gunsmith, we had yummy sandwiches at How I Roll. Very tasty & they have a nice looking salad bar too. Will have to try that next time.
Once home again, it was out to the front entrance to trim some of the low lying branches on the pear trees as they block the view to the road. Now that we are super civilized out here with paved roads & all, people come hauling it around the corner pretty fast. Clipped branches in the burn pile & then off to feed the calves their dinner.
Tomorrow will be a busy day. Working on the commercial herd inventory which will take time as we want a picture of each cow. We also need to re-tag some of the girls who have lost their tags & then there are some who, I don't think, have ever been tagged. We'll wean some more of the larger calves & get the bulls sequestered for the winter. They don't need to be hanging out with the girls again until Spring. If those heifers aren't pregnant by now, they ain't gonna be.
Will have some pictures to share tomorrow.
