Had a great day today. With the cooler wet weather, I took mercy upon the horses & escorted each one of them to the barn for a little breakfast of hay, alfalfa cubes with a little horse feed sprinkled on top. They were quite happy about that. It took a lot of walking to get that done as it takes 10 trips to get them all in the barn & 10 trips to get them back into their pasture.
I guess I felt the need to feed all of the livestock some breakfast so off I went after that to feed the 2 Brahman herds some range cubes. They too got some hay later in the day, but it was an awful cold & wet night not to have a good breakfast - it is the most important meal of the day!
Since I could no longer stand it, I had to straighten up the feed room after all that & it looks much nicer now. It might be so clean that the mice will move on to greener pastures.
WB & I worked on a little project of welding some chain to some horse shoes. I was hoping I'd get to use the arc welder, but no luck there. Not yet anyway. I did get to use the giant grinder to clean up the shoes & chain for a cleaner weld. WB said it would be a hard project for me to start on. I think it was more so that he enjoys welding & didn't want to share his toys!! Oh well, it was fun watching & doing what he'd let me.
Trip into Bastrop for some errands & finally back home by 8pm.
Not sure what tomorrow will bring. I do know I'm meeting the carport guy for an estimate. Other than that, the day is open to all possibilities.
